In 1989, Ron Armour and Tony Kohlruss joined forces to form the Country-Rock group McQueen.
Since the formation, McQueen has been touted as one of the most popular Country show groups in the fair and rodeo market. Their high-energy show, consisting of originals and top 40, is interspersed with impersonations of some of Country’s greatest legends.
The success of the band was widely due to show casing for the fairs and rodeos in both the United States and Canada. In particular, the showcase in San Jose, California secured many U.S. dates for McQueen. In Canada, show casing for the C.A.E. also proved to be very successful for the band, securing dates with Edmonton’s Klondike Days, Cloverdale Rodeo, Toronto’s CNE, the Calgary Stampede and Vancouver’s PNE.
Since showcasing, McQueen has been invited back to the Calgary Stampede for it’s sixth consecutive year. McQueen has also performed multiple dates in the U.S. and opened many shows for major artists, such as Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, Cathy Mathea, April Wine, Sass Jordan and The Charlie Daniels Band.
The result is McQueen, with it’s own unique sound, energy and showmanship.
